Dear Editor: I noted your endorsement of Tommy Rylander for County Board. What astonished me was your description of him as an “engaged representative for his district,” and working to develop a noise mitigation plan.
I have lived in the district, near the airport, for 36 years. The most charitable thing I can say about his participation over the last two years is that he “sits” on the Airport Commission. In the fall of 2024, I contacted him to see if the noise remediation plan was submitted to the FAA in the spring as the airport promised. It took him two weeks to get me the answer from airport administration that, it depends on what your definition of is, is. Heard nothing from him since.
He only promises to “fight” for the neighborhood before the election. He did nothing to improve the first defective plan with no noise remediation for our homes. Comments on the second Dane County Regional Airport’s (DCRA) Noise Compliance Plan were due on the FAA site on March 14. Along with mine, eight other people submitted comments.
