When a student at Memorial High School got her teacher Eliav Goldman’s personal cell phone number last June, she decided to text him as a “prank,” according to a criminal complaint filed in Dane County Circuit Court this week.
Then the situation escalated. Over the next nine months, Goldman and the student exchanged nearly 130,000 text messages, the complaint says.
A Madison police detective who later combed through the text messages said Goldman and the student texted “I love you” at the end of most nights, and such texts from Goldman became more frequent in recent weeks…
