MADISON, Wis. — Madison philanthropist Jerry Frautschi left a special gift to the Madison Children’s Museum before his passing on Jan. 8.
Frautschi donated $6.5 million which is the largest in the museum’s history and will support maintenance, renovation and sustainability upgrades to the structure.
Frautschi’s $5 million gift in 2005 allowed the museum to secure a permanent home in the five-story building at 100 N. Hamilton. “Jerry’s commitment to the museum was cemented when he helped purchase the building in 2005,” said Pleasant Rowland Frautschi, the late philanthropist’s spouse. “As such, the long-term structural integrity of the building is very important to him, and he is honored to help ensure that Madison Children’s Museum continues to be one of the premier children’s museums in the country.”…
