Madison planners aim to close bike path gap near West Towne Mall

A gap in Madison’s bike path network on the west side could be closed in the next two years, pending both city and state approval.

City planners are proposing an extension of the West Towne Path between the Beltline and West Towne Mall. The 0.4-mile segment would fill a hole in the path between South Gammon Road to South High Point Road north of the Beltline.

City crews previously completed a 0.3-mile segment of the path east of High Point last year and an underpass beneath the street in 2020…
