As the Badgers’ new leader, Marcus Sedberry said he’s committed to maintaining the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s 23 sports and plans to continue much of his predecessor’s work.
“I’m humbled by the responsibility. I’m grateful for the opportunity and excited about it. … I recognize that this is a period of transition,” Sedberry said at a campus meeting Wednesday, in one of his first public remarks as interim athletics director.
Sedberry previously held multiple leadership roles in the athletics department, as deputy athletic director, chief operating officer and general manager. He stepped into the interim role after Chris McIntosh resigned Monday to become the Big Ten Conference’s first Deputy Commissioner for Strategy…
