Wisconsin utility regulators are set to rule on a new electric rate for artificial intelligence data centers, a decision that could have national implications for the rapidly growing industry.
The three-member Public Service Commission will vote on We Energies’ special electric rate for data centers Friday, April 24. The closely watched case will determine how large data center projects like the Mount Pleasant and Port Washington campuses pay for their immense electricity needs.
