ANTIGO, Wis. (WJFW) — The city of Antigo is getting a new city administrator.
Michael Wetzel has served the village of Marshall, near Madison, as the village clerk and deputy administrator for two years. Now, he’s taking his professional experience to Antigo, starting May 26 as the city’s new administrator.
Wetzel is no stranger to Wisconsin. He grew up in Ashwaubenon just south of Lambeau Field and eventually moved to Milwaukee after graduating from Loyola University-Chicago. He gained management experience through many jobs around the Milwaukee area, and decided on a change to his career path after receiving his Masters in Public Administration from UW-Oshkosh.
“I eventually decided I wanted a job where I would be more involved in my community,” Wetzel said. “Where number one enjoyed my job and number two I found it more fulfilling, which is what led me to public service.”…
