MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – Firefighters in southern Wisconsin urged ‘ghosts’ to stop setting off a smoke alarm after the homeowner blamed a recurring false alarm on paranormal activity.
According to a release from the Madison Fire Department, crews responded to a home on the 5500 block of Barton Road around 9:30 p.m. on May 17 after smoke alarms were sounding.

Crews arrived and met with the homeowner, who showed them the smoke alarm; however, the alarm suddenly stopped.
The homeowner told firefighters that this is the third time in 10 years that the alarm had gone off “for no reason,” and that the alarm is only five and a half years old…
