Friends, family and employees gathered at Atlanta nightclub Opium on Tuesday night to celebrate the life of co-owner Sharrell Canty, weeks after she was fatally shot at her Gwinnett County home. The memorial comes as the woman accused in Canty’s death is expected to appear in court Wednesday.
Police say 48-year-old Stephany Byrom is charged in the fatal domestic shooting that occurred May 24 at a home on Wilkerson Way in Grayson. Officers responded to the residence that morning, where Canty, 44, was found dead.
