Scattered Severe Storms Possible Across Metro Atlanta Sunday

Scattered thunderstorms, including a few severe storms capable of producing damaging wind gusts, are expected across north and central Georgia this afternoon and evening. The National Weather Service has placed north Georgia under a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 5) for severe thunderstorms, with a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) covering much of the rest of the region. Thunderstorm chances will continue through much of the upcoming week, with some storms capable of heavy rainfall, gusty winds, frequent lightning, and severe weather impacts.
