Roswell teacher shapes wood, music and students’ lives

ROSWELL, Ga. (July 18, 2026) — Erik Herndon describes his longtime friend and bandmate Seth Gamba, an orchestra director who teaches elementary and middle school students in Roswell, as a man without limits.

“I don’t think there’s anything Seth can’t do,” Herndon said.

“I’m not joking. He’s brilliant. I think we used to use the term like Renaissance man,” Herndon added. “I know that’s getting harder to do in today’s world because there’s so much out there to learn and do. But this guy, I’ve seen him; he made me a guitar pedal from scratch, engineered it, soldered it, did the circuitry.”

Herndon said Gamba wired up a recording studio himself, teaching himself to be a studio engineer and mastering the software along the way. He’s watched Gamba pick up nearly any instrument and play it at a high level…
