KENNESAW — This week, the mayors of Acworth and Kennesaw detailed how the renewal of the special purpose local option sales tax will help further economic growth in their cities during a panel discussion hosted by the Cobb Chamber of Commerce.
Kennesaw Mayor Derek Easterling and Acworth Mayor Tommy Allegood said during Wednesday’s panel — which took place at the Governors Gun Club and invited the mayors to discuss development in northwest Cobb — that the SPLOST funds are necessary to support infrastructure and other projects that will boost businesses, create jobs and encourage spending in their communities.
