Rodney Lee Merrell, 39, of Mineral Bluff, is accused of burning unknown items at the rear of a residence at 687 Kiowa Drive in Marietta on Aug. 22 at 5:40 p.m., according to an arrest warrant from the Marietta Police Department.
The fire was not contained and was burning on top of the greenery to the point that it could have started a brush fire, according to the warrant.
Police were called to the scene of a domestic situation and made contact with Merrell upon arrival. Police commanded him to walk from the backyard of the residence to the front to speak with officers. Merrell told police no and started to walk away.
