Georgia death row inmate gets second clemency hearing in less than a year

A Georgia death row inmate convicted of killing two Cobb County real estate agents in 2003 is scheduled for another clemency hearing after his execution was postponed last December.

The State Board of Pardons and Paroles will hold a clemency hearing for 53-year-old Stacey Ian Humphreys at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15.

Four of the board’s five members will hear testimony after one member recused herself because of a conflict of interest. A judge denied Humphreys’ effort to have his clemency case considered by a full five-member board…
