Kevin Binette, a 63-year-old former IT manager at Turner Broadcasting System, was still leading worship in metro Atlanta in July 2026, more than two decades after a written confession described sexual abuse of children and young men, according to The Roys Report. He has not preached since the end of that month, the outlet reported.
According to The Roys Report, Binette gave his wife a written confession sometime between 2002 and 2005 detailing a pattern of abuse. In the document, he wrote that as a teenager in the 1970s he molested a young boy, and that in college during the 1980s he molested two fellow students while they slept. The confession also stated that in the early 1990s he molested two of his four children, and while chaperoning church youth-group trips in the late 1990s he molested several more sleeping boys. Binette wrote that his desires had never gone away, telling his wife, “I still battle an attraction for young men.”
Church roles and reported affiliations
The Roys Report says Binette volunteered in at least six congregations across metro Atlanta’s northern suburbs and exurbs over more than two decades. The churches it identifies are Cornerstone Fellowship in Dacula, Metropolitan Church of God in Duluth, 12Stone Church in Lawrenceville, International House of Prayer–Atlanta, The Way Church of Hartwell, and The Vine Church in Braselton.
The report says Binette led worship at one service and preached at another at Lifegate Church International in Snellville this past July. Church leadership reportedly appeared unaware of his past at the time. According to the same account, he has not preached elsewhere since the end of that month.
A church’s response after allegations surfaced
Gate City Church in Lawrenceville, formerly known as International House of Prayer–Atlanta, removed Binette from its worship team after leaders learned of the allegations, according to a separate Roys Report piece on the fallout at the church’s 24/7 prayer room.
