Nearly 1,500 guns seized, 20 people charged in major gang trafficking case

Federal authorities announced charges against 20 people in what investigators describe as a major gang-related firearms trafficking and drug distribution operation centered in metro Atlanta.

During a news conference Tuesday, officials with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the ATF and the FBI displayed hundreds of confiscated weapons tied to the investigation.

Authorities say the investigation resulted in the seizure of nearly 1,500 firearms and federal charges against 20 defendants.
