Five Injured in North Cobb Crash Thursday Morning

Five people were injured, including one seriously, in a crash in Kennesaw Thursday morning, according to the Cobb County Police Department.

Police say a Mitsubishi Montero going northbound and driven by Peris Gichaga, 34, of Kennesaw, attempted a left turn on Baker Road near Jiles Way, about a mile from Baker Elementary, around 7:20 a.m. Thursday when it was hit by a Toyota Sienna driven by 23-year-old Ana Gonzalez of Acworth and headed south on Baker Road.

The Mitsubishi entered the path of the Toyota, and the front of the Toyota collided with the right side of the Mitsubishi, according to Officer Shenise Barner, Cobb Police spokesperson.

The collision redirected the Mitsubishi off the roadway and into the gravel shoulder, where it came to an uncontrolled rest oriented west.

After impact, the Toyota rolled backward into the center turn lane of Baker Road and came to a final uncontrolled rest after being stopped by a witness to the collision, Barner added. The front of the Toyota was oriented south.
