Georgia Cop Impersonator With ‘Special Officer Badge’ Reads His Miranda Rights as He’s Arrested

Shawn Brown of Georgia posed as a police officer, trying to arrest a real police officer with a fake badge and plastic handcuffs

A Georgia man was arrested earlier this month after he allegedly posed as a Marietta police officer while trying to arrest an actual police officer.

On the morning of Jan. 19, a Marietta police officer was heading to a car wash on Roswell Road when he saw a man with a shopping cart blocking traffic in the westbound lane. The actual police officer told the man, later identified as Shawn Brown, to move to the sidewalk, but Brown cursed out the officer, per the police report obtained by WSB-TV .

The suspect then walked toward the center of the road, and the officer tried to stop him by placing his hand on Brown’s shopping cart before ordering him to step out of the road. At this point, Brown reportedly told the officer that it would be “bad” for the officer if he touched him.

After the police officer identified himself, Brown responded by saying “I am a cop,” while showing the officer a fake badge.
