Lawmaker wants photo IDs presented when deeds are produced

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A state lawmaker has filed a bill authorizing superior court clerks to require identification for anyone recording property deeds. The bill, introduced by state Rep. Mandisha Thomas (D-South Fulton), comes after a series of reports highlighting the growing number of cases of homeowners claiming their property has been stolen from them through fraudulent measures.
