A Marietta man is accused of shooting 127 rounds at “ninja like” people he believed were after him.
Richard Ray West, 37, is accused of shooting approximately 127 rounds from a 40-caliber handgun, while under the assumption that “ninja like” people were after him, on Jan. 18 between midnight and 9:28 a.m. The incident occurred in and around the property of J & R Cycle Shop, 1431 Canton Road in Marietta, near the intersection of Dickerson Road and Canton Road NE, according to an arrest warrant from the Marietta Police Department.
During the incident, West destroyed a mini fridge, a microwave, a metal desk, a television, a space heater and two computer towers belonging to Robert Scavone, the owner of J & R Cycle Shop. The shop is located in the building owned by Smart LLC. West shot through the glass front door and glass store front, tore down a portion of the ceiling panel and insulation, shot through multiple locations on the walls and the metal garage door and broke a wooden bathroom door off its hinges and into pieces. Following the shooting, West stole a blue 1987 Honda 700 Magna motorcycle from inside the shop, according to the warrant.
