Marietta Man Accused of Stealing Cash during a Used Car Sale

A Marietta man is accused of snatching cash from a woman during a used car sale.

Jaylen Williams, 25, is accused of being armed with a screw driver, snatching $5,000 from the victim’s hands and taking off in the used car being sold during a Facebook marketplace meeting on Jan. 23 at 2:40 p.m. at an apartment at 2110 Hidden Glen Drive in Marietta, in The Cumberland Apartments near the Nalley Acura dealership on U.S. Highway 41, according to an arrest warrant by the Cobb County Police Department.

Williams is charged with robbery snatch; and theft by deception – greater than $1,500. He was arrested on Jan. 23 at 3 p.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records.

Williams remains in custody. Bond on these charges was set at $12,000. Jail records also show Williams has a $10,000 bond for another arrest warrant’s charges.
