Marietta High School recently received a $7,500 donation from Lidl US Grocery Store.
The donation was made possible through the community’s active participation in the Groceries That Give Back campaign.
The funds will be allocated to the Marietta Student Life Center’s “Come and Get It” food pantry. With the donation, MHS will expand the pantry’s offerings, ensuring that students have consistent access to nutritious meals.
“This donation from Lidl is not just a monetary contribution; it’s a lifeline for many of our students,” said Superintendent Dr. Grant Rivera. “It represents the community’s collective effort to ensure that every student has the foundation they need to succeed.”
Marietta High’s fundraising initiative through Lidl’s campaign was the highest-earning donation in the state.
The check presentation was attended by key figures from Marietta City Schools and Lidl US, including Dr. Marvin Crumbs, Principal of Marietta High School; Sarah Barbour, Director of the Student Life Center; Kim Blass, Director of External Affairs; Dr. Grant Rivera, MCS Superintendent, and Lidl representatives.
