Marietta Teen Accused of Stabbing Parents

Nehemiah Asani Nasim Gonzalez, 15, of Marietta, is accused of stabbing his mother and stepfather on Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. at an apartment at 1967 Leland Drive in Marietta, in the Belmont Place complex, according to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Police Department.

According to the warrant, Gonzalez took a large black pocket knife from his pocket and stabbed his stepfather multiple times in the side, puncturing a lung. When Gonzalez’s mother tried to break up the physical fight between her husband and son, she was stabbed in the left arm causing a deep, bleeding laceration. Both victims were transported to Kennestone Hospital for treatment. Two other children, under the age of 18, witnessed the event, according to the warrant.

Gonzalez is charged with two counts of aggravated assault weapon; and two counts of cruelty to children – third degree. He was arrested Sept. 21 at 5:30 p.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records.

Gonzalez remains in custody without bond.
