A pedestrian was killed and another left seriously injured after being hit by a car on the sidewalk along Barrett Lakes Boulevard Thursday, according to Cobb County Police.
At about 7:24 p.m., a 2020 Nissan Altima traveling southbound on Executive Lane entered the Barrett Lakes Boulevard intersection and collided with an eastbound 2021 Nissan Rogue, Cobb Police report.
The crash occurred in front of The 1800 at Barrett Lakes apartment complex.
According to authorities, the collision redirected both vehicles, with the Rogue veering onto the southern sidewalk and striking two pedestrians.
Police said the male pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. The female pedestrian was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the Rogue was also hospitalized with minor injuries, while the driver of the Altima reported minor injuries but did not require immediate transport.
The names of those involved have not been released, but the next of kin have been notified, said police.
