Over recent weeks, mysterious drone sightings have become big news, along the east coast and now near Atlanta, according to WXIA-TV Channel 11. Citizens from all walks of life have reported spotting mysterious lights hovering, moving and disappearing from nearby skies, the reports indicate.
The number, frequency and locations of the sightings have resulted in widespread demands for investigations and answers. Officials at the White House and Pentagon are trying to reassure the public through the media that there is no danger overhead, according to government sources like the Department of Defense, Homeland Security, FAA and FBI.
But long before current reports of mysterious drones, former Georgia Governor and US President Jimmy Carter and several others spotted an UFO overhead in the night skies near Leary, GA, in the southwest corner of the Peach State in 1969. And while others who also reported seeing the object later recanted their stories, Carter stuck with his account, retelling the story over several years. He even filed an official report of the sighting in 1973 with the International UFO Bureau, a now-defunct tracking agency once headquartered in Oklahoma City, OK.
