Georgia State Patrol is investigating after a hit-and-run crash involving an Atlanta police officer in Buckhead.
It happened just before 9 p.m. on Friday.
According to GSP, a trooper with GSP Nighthawks North DUI Task Force noticed a gray Kia sedan going 61 miles per hour in a 35 miles per hour speed zone on Roswell Road NE near Honour Ave NW.
Officials said the trooper tried to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver refused to stop, initiating a police chase.

GSP said an APD patrol car was traveling north on Piedmont Road NE trying to turn left into a private driveway. According to GSP, the Kia hit the APD patrol car head-on causing both cars to come to a stop in the roadway. The driver of the Kia along with other passengers jumped out of the car and ran towards a nearby parking garage, officials said.
