After a freezing weekend, metro Atlantans are getting milder temperatures for Christmas. But if you’re traveling, keep an eye on the weather at your destination, as winter storms could spell trouble.
Temps in Atlanta on Christmas Eve and day will top out near 60 degrees with not much rain in sight.
On Monday, though, morning temps are in the 20s and 30s.
“We are starting off nice and clear. It’s going to be a quiet day all across North Georgia,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Eboni Deon said.
Highs this afternoon will stay in the upper 40s and low 50s, so it’ll still be a bit chilly, but there will be plenty of sunshine.
“It is going to be a beautiful day for travel plans,” Deon said.

If you’re traveling to the southeast coast today, you might run into a few showers, but overall the forecast is good. Weather across the mid-Atlantic and much of the northeast is looking good.
“But as you get into the Great Lakes, there are winter weather advisories in place,” Deon said. “ Lots of snow around Michigan, back into Wisconsin, even parts of Minnesota.”
