Christmas saved! Grinch arrested in Sandy Springs

Sandy Springs police solved a Who-dunnit on Christmas Eve.

Several 911 calls came in around 8 a.m. regarding the attempted theft of gifts in the area of Mount Vernon Highway and Sandy Springs Circle. The suspect was described as a mean one, a green menace with termites in his smile, his heart three sizes too small. Civilians were wise not to approach, not even with a 39-and-a-half foot pole, as a slow-speed chase ensued down Mount Vernon.

“Our officers quickly responded to the area and located the suspect,” police said in a social media post .

Things took a turn when a young witness stepped in.

“I know he took all the presents, but he did say he was sorry!” exclaimed Cindy Lou Who as the suspect was taken into custody. “He brought most of everything back! He did forget the turkey, but for the most part!

“I’ll pick you up!” Cindy Lou Who continued, as officers stuffed the Grinch into the back of a squad car. It was unclear how a child no more than 2 planned to keep that pledge.
