Everyone knows that metro Atlanta and Georgia as a whole has earned the nickname “Hollywood of the South.”
With a booming film industry with hefty tax credits, filmmakers have been flocking to the Peach State to make their movies.
From Marvel Studios making their superhero flicks a mainstay in the area to Atlanta’s own Tyler Perry Studios, there’s never a shortage of movie and TV projects calling Georgia home.
Here are some of the highest-grossing movies of 2024 during their theatrical releases that were filmed, at least in part, here in Georgia.

“Bad Boys: Ride or Die” – $404,544,199
By far Georgia’s highest-grossing movie of the year, Martin Lawrence and Will Smith teamed up once again for the fourth installment in the “Bad Boys” franchise, which started back in 1995.
This time, the Miami cops are working to clear the name of their late police captain after he’s linked to drug cartels.
It was filmed at Eagle Rock Studios in Atlanta, as well as in Stone Mountain and Miami.
