Schools Eyeing Forecasts with Potential for Flurries

Local school districts are monitoring inclement weather as forecasts dip below freezing every night and include a chance of snow.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will drop below freezing every night this week. Forecasters predict Cobb will cool off as low as 22 degrees Tuesday night, 21 degrees Wednesday night and 25 degrees Thursday night.

Temperatures are expected to rise slightly overnight Friday to 30 degrees. Forecasts show an 80% chance of precipitation overnight, noting that could be a mix of freezing rain and snow.

Rain and snow showers are also likely Friday afternoon, mainly after 1 p.m., with a high of 36 degrees and cloudy skies.

Other daytime forecasts are more mild, and a wind advisory put in effect Monday will end Tuesday morning at 7 a.m.

Tuesday and Wednesday are both expected to be sunny, with highs around 40 degrees and wind gusts up to 20 mph. Thursday is projected to be sunny without wind.

Temperatures will rise slightly this weekend, with Saturday expected to be partly-cloudy and 40 degrees, and Sunday looking like it’ll be sunny and 42 degrees.
