NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. — Gov. Brian Kemp suspended Newton County Board of Commissioners Chairman Marcello Banes and District 3 Commissioner Stephanie Lindsey from their respective positions last week.
The two were indicted last year on federal money laundering charges related to the 2019 sale of property by an economic development agency.
