‘Imminent danger’ | Georgia daycare at center of Benadryl scandal shuttered as more allegations come to light

FORSYTH, Ga. — Georgia’s Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) has temporarily shut down the Forsyth Methodist Church’s Caring for Kids daycare center after one of the center’s employees was arrested for giving toddlers Benadryl along with leveling brand new accusations against the daycare center.

The agency’s directive, which was issued on Monday, orders the daycare to immediately stop operations and notify current clients that they’re closing immediately, at least for now. The closure is in effect for 21 days unless the center officially appeals the order with an administrative judge.

While an extreme measure, the agency says that the measure is necessary “because the health, safety, or welfare of children at the center may be in imminent danger,” the order said…
