VALDOSTA, Ga. — A Georgia Department of Public Safety K9 officer died on Tuesday after suffering a medical episode at training, according to a press release from the Georgia Department of Public Safety.
K9 Bruce, a 2-year-old Belgian Malinois and German Shepherd, graduated from the agency’s Canine School in 2024. But during a training in Valdosta, they say something went wrong.
“After taking a break from training, K9 Bruce’s handler attempted to let him out of the patrol vehicle. He immediately realized something was wrong when Bruce struggled to stand or move,” the agency said…
