Gwinnett School Student Arrested on Felony Charges for Alleged Surveillance in Girls’ Restroom

A former student at the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology has been arrested on felony charges for allegedly taking inappropriate photos in a girls’ restroom. Hongming Mo, 17, faces charges of unlawful eavesdropping or surveillance after reports indicated he entered the restroom multiple times since October 2024 to capture images, as FOX 5 Atlanta reported.

School Principal Logan Malm informed parents in a letter that the school responded quickly upon learning of the incident. He explained that the school immediately contacted the resource officer, implemented disciplinary actions, and collaborated with law enforcement. Malm also highlighted the strength of the school’s security measures and the involvement of the community in addressing the issue.

Malm also said, “This type of behavior is both a violation of our student conduct code and against the law, and it will never be tolerated at GSMST,” as noted by FOX 5 Atlanta.
