An officer-involved shooting in Paulding County is currently under investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), following an incident that resulted in the death of a 22-year-old man. On Thursday, deputies from the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home on Hemlock Glen in Dallas, GA, to perform a welfare check. According to a statement from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, during the encounter, Jameel Johnson’s mother disarmed him of a rifle before deputies entered the room where he was located.
Upon entering the bedroom, a confrontation erupted where Johnson, armed with a handgun, fired multiple times towards the deputies, injuring one.
