Gradeirah Carson, 35, of Austell, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol and causing a crash at the intersection of Veterans Memorial Highway and Queens Mill Road in Mableton on May 10 at 2:53 p.m., according to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Police Department.
Carson attempted to leave the scene but was unable, due to disabling damage and airbag deployment. While on the scene, she returned to the disabled vehicle and began to drive off. She was stopped by police and her keys were seized. Carson’s speech was slurred, she had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from her mouth and police observed she had glossy/wandering eyes. She was given 11 opportunities to complete simple tasks but could not follow instructions. Police located five 100 milliliter Tequila bottles on the front passenger seat of the vehicle. Carson also was transporting three children under the age of 14, according to the warrant.
Carson is charged with DUI – less safe alcohol; three counts of DUI – child endangerment; and driving – following too closely. She was arrested on May 13 at noon and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records…
