ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Investigators with Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services rewarded three witnesses who came forward to help put two arsonists behind bars.
Each of the witnesses received a check from the Georgia Arson Control Board on Tuesday. Fire officials say they hope it encourages people to come forward with any information they have about seeing an arsonist in action.
In the first case, a jury convicted 32-year-old Robert Smith on two counts of felony murder and one count of first-degree arson for setting an Austell house on fire in 2023. The blaze killed 52-year-old Andrea Nall, 74-year-old Michell Lacroix and eight pets…
