Suspect Accused of Assaulting Georgia Peace Officers in Austell

Alex O’Connor Ross, 49, of Hayesville, North Carolina, is accused of physically assaulting two female peace officers, who are employees of the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council, on June 2 at 11 a.m. at the Threadmill Complex in Austell, according to an arrest warrant from the Austell Police Department.

Ross struck one officer in the face, resulting in facial fracture and attempted to remove a handgun from the officer’s holster. He is also accused of punching a third woman in the right eye, causing bruising and swelling, according to the warrant.

Ross is charged with removal or attempted removal of a weapon from a public official; violation of oath as public officer; two counts of battery substantial physical harm; two counts of obstruction felony; three counts of disorderly conduct – person; and aggravated battery deprive. He was arrested on June 2 at 11:20 a.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records…
