‘The Wire’ actor’s son now able to walk on his own after Ga. tornado injury

ATLANTA, Ga. – Rehab is progressing for the Henry County teenager who was thrown hundreds of feet from his home during a tornado last month.

Malachi Chaney’s father, actor Tray Chaney, posted a video of the teen walking without the help of a walker while in rehab at Shepherd Rehabilitation Center in Atlanta.

“Thank you, Jehovah. This is the best Father’s Day gift I could ever ask for,” Trey Chaney – best known for his role as Malik “Poot” Carr on HBO’s “The Wire – said in the video.

The teenager was thrown almost 300 feet from his home when an EF-2 tornado pulled him from his second-floor bedroom and landing in the woods behind the home. His father was knocked unconscious by debris…
