No Rollback: Cobb Schools to Collect Millions More in Property Taxes

MARIETTA — Following a third and final public hearing Thursday, the Cobb County Board of Education voted to keep the district’s millage rate the same as last year, which will result in a tax increase.

In a 6-0-1 vote, with board member Nichelle Davis voting present, the board kept the millage flat at 18.7 mills.

Though the tax rate is proposed to remain the same, a rise in property values throughout the county is expected to bring the district nearly $17.4 million in additional tax revenue, an increase of 2.16% over last year…
