ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A man died on Thursday morning after a police chase led to a severe crash on I-75 near Cartersville, according to the Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS).
At around 3:10 a.m., a Land Rover was speeding away from a Cobb County police patrol car near Red Top Mountain Road when the officer used a precision immobilization technique (PIT) maneuver.
The SUV hit the median, flipped over the cable barrier dividing the northbound lanes from the southbound lanes and landed on its roof. The driver, later identified as 40-year-old Benjamin Alstoft from Woodstock, was ejected from the car and died at the scene, DPS said…
