Drunk Georgia Woman Abandons Child In Submerged Car, Stands On Top Of Vehicle

A woman faces multiple charges after authorities say she drunkenly drove her car into a Georgia lake, then climbed to safety and stood on top of the sinking vehicle while her 3-year-old goddaughter remained trapped inside.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, on August 10, Nafeeza Samad, 23, was seen speeding toward Dundee Lake. Her Acura TL sedan reportedly struck large boulders before vaulting into the water. Instead of helping the child, identified as Hailey, authorities say Samad climbed out of the car and stood on the roof as it became fully submerged.

Bystanders reportedly helped Samad to safety, but it was minutes before first responders arrived and learned that a child was still underwater…
