A violent altercation broke out on August 17th at the Rome Youth Detention Center, resulting in multiple youths being assaulted and one inmate facing an aggravated assault charge.
According to officials, Mareece Darrell Adams, 17 of Douglasville, along with two 16-year-old inmates—one from Fulton County and the other from Douglas County—initiated a physical attack on three other youths: a 16-year-old from Gordon County, a 14-year-old from Floyd County, and a 13-year-old from Douglas County. A second 14-year-old inmate from Floyd County was also reportedly targeted.
