A Cherokee County man, dubbed “Cheese,” has been sentenced to more than seven years in federal prison after authorities uncovered a dangerous mix of drugs, illegal weapons, and a moonshine still on his property.
A multi-agency investigation has led to the sentencing of Michael Ferrell Price, 68, of Ball Ground, Georgia, on drug and weapons charges. Price, also known as “Cheese,” was sentenced to 87 months—just over seven years—in federal prison after pleading guilty to possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm by an unlawful drug user.
The investigation began in September 2024, when the Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad (CMANS) started looking into Price for allegedly selling methamphetamine from his mother’s home.
The following month, agents executed a search warrant and discovered a trove of illegal items. In a backwoods shed, agents found over three ounces of highly pure crystal methamphetamine. The shed also contained a dangerous collection of more than 150 firearms, including two machine guns, a short-barreled rifle, and unregistered silencers…
