Sandy Springs Man Sentenced to 11 Years for Fatal Stabbing of Fiancée’s Dog

A Sandy Springs resident will be behind bars for more than a decade for the fatal stabbing of his fiancée’s dog after a contentious argument. Joshua Paul Allen, the man at the center of this grisly incident, was handed an 11-year prison sentence by a Fulton County Superior Court judge, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta. Allen had made a guilty plea to several charges, including cruelty to animals in the first degree, terroristic threats, and tampering with evidence.

The crime occurred on February 11, when, during an argument over the phone with his fiancée, Allen turned his aggression towards the canine named “Pretty.” Approached by a swift response from the authorities, Allen attempted to hide his gruesome deed by using bleach on the crime scene and disposing the animal’s body via a trash bag found in his car. According to WSB Radio, this case’s detectives and the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office were recognized by the police for their diligent work, which led to the conviction.

While defense attorneys proposed a lighter sentence of five years with merely two years to be served, their request was decidedly rejected, with the judge opting for a sterner, 11-year sentence devoid of probation or parole prospects…
