A Georgia mother of three finds her calling in nursing through Wellstar’s free CareerCare program

ATLANTA — A dream that began in a warehouse is now unfolding at Wellstar, where a mother of three is working toward becoming a nurse in honor of her late brother.

Shequita Starks operated a forklift to earn a living to help take care of her children, but she realized it wasn’t a passion of hers, paving the way for her dreams to become a reality.

“I started as a warehouse worker, and now I’m in the nursing field, and I have found my true passion. I love taking care of people. I just needed to make a paycheck for the kids, and I thought, ‘No, this is not what I wanted to do.’ I tried to take care of people and make a difference in the world,” she said…
