Flooring heist: Duo nabbed for stealing 50 bundles from Austell Rd. building

Fernando Lopez, 35, of Austell, and John Leo Uggerud, 63, of Marietta, are accused of stealing 900 square feet of hardwood flooring, worth $3,150, from an abandoned building at 2291 Austell Road SW in Marietta, on Oct. 10 at 6 p.m., according to arrest warrants from the Cobb County Police Department.

Lopez and Uggerud were photographed in a truck working in conjunction with others to take the flooring out of the building and loading it into the bed of a black Dodge pickup truck before leaving the property.

Lopez and Uggerud were photographed in the truck containing the stolen goods. The truck was located the following day and both men were apprehended. A search warrant was executed on a property and police recovered the stolen materials, which totaled 50 bundles of hardwood flooring, according to the warrants…
