Police: Marietta man killed in shooting involving Smyrna police died of self-inflicted wound

The Marietta man killed in a shooting involving Smyrna Police officers died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Smyrna Police said.

Darrick Desawn Rooks, 46, of Marietta, died Friday morning after an encounter with Smyrna officers following a traffic stop involving a stolen U-Haul truck, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
