State representatives call for removal of Cobb school board member after lawsuit

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – State Representatives Terry Cummings (D-Mableton), Mekyah McQueen (D-Smyrna), Lisa Campbell (D-Kennesaw) and Gabriel Sanchez (D-Smyrna) are calling on Gov. Brian Kemp to remove John Cristadoro from his seat on the Cobb County Board of Education.

Last year, Cristadoro was slapped with a civil lawsuit alleging that he and his marketing firm took $250,000 dollars from a client that was supposed to be used for advertising materials. The lawsuit alleges it was used for personal expenses.

“I think it’s very concerning to see a school member who’s supposed to be entrusted with taxpayer dollars being found to have committed embezzlement,” Rep. Sanchez said…
