‘Worst day of my life’: Mom speaks after 18-year-old son seriously injured in skiing accident

ATLANTA (WANF/Gray News) – A Georgia mother says her family’s lives all changed after her 18-year-old son was seriously injured in a skiing accident, leaving him hospitalized for weeks.

Ayden Slipsager, an 18-year-old freshman at the University of Georgia, was seriously injured in a skiing accident Dec. 17 while on a trip to Colorado. He was hospitalized in Denver, having suffered a fractured skull, broken ribs, a collapsed lung, a broken collarbone and a number of other injuries.

“It was scary. He wasn’t awake, tubes and braces and intubated, and I wasn’t even sure he was even in there… the worst day of my life,” said Ayden’s mother, Tami Slipsager. “No mother should ever get the call that I got.”…
